Free Music

Tech site ExtremeTech picks eight of the best music recommendation engines, including Pandora, Last.FM and Liveplasma.

The picks were based on navigation, community and media (text lists
versus streaming music) among other criteria. I've had great success
with Last.FM recommendations - which makes sense, since they know a
whole lot about what I like to listen to, though Pandora's nice because
it streams recs on the spot. What's your favorite destination for
discovering new music? Let us know in the comments or at tips at
lifehacker.com.

I personally use rhapsody to listen to music, however these various services are a excellent way to discover new artists. If you want to save the music to you computer for personal use, you can use software like replay music to record them while they are streaming.
